Kevin Millar joins MLB Network
(April 22, 2010) Kevin Millar, who played for the Toronto Blue Jays last season but had not caught onto a major-league roster this season, will join MLB Network as a studio analyst.
The 38-year-old Millar was given an invite to spring training by the Cubs, but was cut just prior to the start of the regular season. "Kevin Millar brings a fresh and current perspective to MLB Network, having played this past season," said network president and CEO Tony Petitti. A native of Los Angeles, Millar batted .223 with seven homers and 29 RBI in 78 games with the Jays in 2009. Over his 12-year career, which has included stints with Florida, Boston, Baltimore and Toronto he has played in 1,427 games and has batted .274 with 170 homers and 699 RBI. He was an integral part of the 2004 World Series champion Red Sox. "I am really excited to get started and have some fun," Millar said of his career switch. _______________________
