(April 7, 2010) The Mobile BayBears Professional Baseball Club (Double-A Affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks) announced today that a new radio agreement that will place every inning of all 140 regular season contests plus the postseason on ESPN Radio HD 107.32 FM, the stations HD channel.

The Los Angeles Dodgers, Chicago White Sox and Milwaukee Brewers are just a few of the Major League Baseball clubs that are now broadcasting their games in HD. HD Radio broadcasting is dramatically higher quality audio, far more programming choices brought to you by your local AM and FM radio stations. Thousands of radio stations are upgrading their broadcast technology; hundreds of stations across the country are already currently broadcasting with digital HD Radio technology. HD2 programming is now offered on all of Clear Channel’s local FM stations in Mobile and Pensacola.

In a partnership with Mobile’s Clear Channel Radio, the Mobile BayBears will be broadcasting all 140 regular season games. BayBears President and Chief Operating Officer Bill Shanahan, is ecstatic about the opportunity to work with Clear Channel Radio and their 107.32 HD channel, which is an ESPNHD affiliate.

“This couldn’t be a more exciting opportunity for us to have our games broadcast on 107.32, ESPNHD,” Shanahan said. “HD Radio is not far away from being in everyone’s cars and homes as an addition to terrestrial radio, and we are excited to be a part of this emerging technology.”

“As we begin to roll out local programming features on our HD2 channels, affiliating with the Baybears on 107.32 was a natural, considering our existing affiliation with ESPNHD” say David Coppock, Vice President and Market Manger for Clear Channel Radio, Mobile and Pensacola.

BayBears broadcasts will also be available online at www.baybearsradio.com and on television with audio only on Comcast Digital Cable Channel 103.

The many avenues to listen to BayBear contests also extends to the iPhone as part of the WunderRadio app.

“If you want to listen to BayBears Baseball, it won’t be hard to find,” added Shanahan. “With technology at its strongest point in our history, the BayBears are now available on every medium imaginable.”

Broadcasts will commence 20 minutes before the first pitch of every contest with the BayBears Pepsi Pre-Game Show, hosted by BayBears play-by-play announcer and STAA client Wayne Randazzo. Following the call of each game, fans can tune in for the Budweiser Post-Game Report, a 15 minute wrap-up on the day’s contest plus scoreboard updates from the Southern League and Major League Baseball.

“Being on ESPN Radio HD this season will highlight what was already going to be a terrific year of BayBears Baseball,” Randazzo said. “I can’t wait to get started and deliver every pitch to all of the fantastic BayBears fans in 2010.”

Broadcast will begin with the first pitch of the 2010 season on Thursday, April 8 when the BayBears visit the Montgomery Biscuits at 7:05 p.m.
