(March 30, 2010) In an effort to expand on its ability to deliver local sports news and features to Baltimore’s rabid sports fan base, PressBox, Baltimore’s multi-platform sports media company, has partnered with WVIE-AM (1370 AM, A Fox Sports Radio Affiliate) to produce an hour long sports talk show weekdays from 12 to 1pm. "PressBox Sports Radio" will be hosted by longtime sports radio personality and PressBox founder, Stan 'The Fan' Charles. The lunch-hour broadcast will cover all local aspects of sports, from high school to professional. Additionally, the show will tackle major local sports topics and business developments, featuring writers from PressBox's web site and monthly newspaper. "PressBox Sports Radio with Stan 'The Fan' Charles" will begin airing Monday, April 5, 2010.

"PressBox Sports Radio" will compliment in-place sports media platforms. Currently, PressBox publishes a monthly free newspaper, printing 70,000 copies per month, distributed at more than 650 pick-up locations; operates a Web site, www.PressBoxOnline.com; produces a 30-minute sports show "Inside PressBox" airing each weekend on ABC-2 and a nightly sports update airing in the 11 p.m. news on ABC-2. PressBox also creates custom sports events and promotions for the Baltimore market.

PressBox Founder and Publisher Stan "The Fan" Charles will host "PressBox Sports Radio." "I am thrilled to be on the air again every day! Baltimore’s sports fans seem to have an insatiable appetite for local information and news on their favorite teams and events," Charles said. "Our partnership with WVIE allows us to give these fans what they want." WVIE Vice President and General Manager Bob Pettit says, "Stan is an icon when it comes to sports talk… Many of us have worked with Stan over the past 30 years even before 'sports talk' was a format. We are equally excited to be associated with PressBox and have the opportunity to work with John Coulson, Stan and the staff at PressBox, a great name in Baltimore sports."

"Clients advertising with PressBox now have the ability to spread their marketing dollars across print, radio, television and internet platforms at a price that will generate results efficiently," said PressBox Vice President of Sales and Marketing John Coulson. "Sports fans are a highly desirable target. PressBox reaches them in a positive environment, where they are able to escape, if even for a few minutes, from the rigors of the daily negative news about the economy, war, joblessness and crime. Advertisers can use our media options to deliver their information in a positive light."
