Dallas' Fan overtakes ESPN 103.3Courtesy
Dallas Morning News
(March 29, 2010) As usual, The Ticket was on the top of the monthly sports talk radio heap in February. In the men 25-54 demographic, the benchmark of the business, The Ticket ranked No. 1 in the Dallas-Fort Worth market. The station averaged an 8.9 share Mondays thru Fridays from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.
The news comes at No. 2 in sports talk, where The Fan 105.3 FM, the newest entry in the field, supplanted ESPN-FM 103.3. The Fan averaged a 2.2 share, which ranked 17th in the market. Meanwhile, ESPN averaged a 1.9 share. In February 2009, The Ticket scored a 6.8, ESPN compiled a 3.4, and The Fan finished at 1.3. The Ticket's Dunham and Miller was the most dominant show over its competition. It was the only show to average a double-digit share. ESPN's Colin Cowherd show drew the least interest. Ben and Skin, who replaced Michael Irvin at ESPN just before the Super Bowl, turned in lower numbers than their predecessor. _______________________
