Prim Siripipat out at CBS 4 MiamiCourtesy
Miami Herald
(March 18, 2010) WFOR-CBS 4 on Wednesday dropped Prim Siripipat, who had been the station's No. 2 sportscaster for the past 2 1/2 years. The station has discussed moving early morning news anchor Jim Berry back to sports, though a WFOR spokesperson declined to address that or confirm Siripipat's departure. Berry worked as a sportscaster at WFOR for 12 years before shifting to news in 2008. Earlier in his career, he spent six years anchoring sports at WSVN-Fox 7 in Miami before taking a job in Chicago in 1994. He returned to Miami for a job at WFOR in 1996. Former Miami Dolphin Kim Bokamper has served as WFOR's lead sportscaster since Berry moved to news, and would remain one of the station's sportscasters regardless of whether Berry returns to sports or not. Siripipat, who declined to comment, was told her dismissal was the result of budget cuts, not job performance. Siripipat was the Miami-Fort Lauderdale market's only full-time woman television sportscaster. Andrea Brody works on a freelance basis for WPLG-10. _______________________
