Steve Phillips hopes to broadcast again
(March 3, 2010) Former ESPN baseball analyst Steve Phillips recently gave an extended interview with New York radio station WFAN.

Phillips, the former New York Mets general manager, had a two-month affair with a 22-year-old production assistant at ESPN last year.

Phillips lost his job, is estranged from his wife and was treated for sex addiction at the same facility reported to have treated Tiger Woods.

"Obviously, I want to work again, and I want to be able to talk baseball again," Phillips said. "I want to only come on and talk baseball at some point, and yet, I understand right now I have to answer the questions. I can't hide from what I did, so I want to talk about it."

Phillips, 46, said his wife filed for divorce but that he was hoping for reconciliation.

"I caused some horrific pain to her," Phillips said. "My goal is to try to find a way through my actions."
