(February 16, 2010) KKTV has hired Sam Farnsworth for the weekend sports anchor position.Farnsworth comes to Colorado Springs from KKCO in Grand Junction where he was sports director. Before that he worked for four years at KSL in Salt Lake City. He started at KSL as a sports intern during his sophomore year of college at Utah Valley State College in Orem, Utah. ” I am really excited to work alongside Sam! He has a great reputation for his passion for local sports on the Western Slope,” said Jesse Kurtz, KKTV sports director in an e-mail. Kurtz added that he had looked at over 100 tapes before choosing Farnsworth for the position. ” I think he’ll fit in well with our local sports community,” Kurtz said. Farnsworth replaces Josh Earl who is headed to Charlotte, North Carolina where his wife Rosie Barresi Earl will be reporting for WSOC. Farnsworth speaks three languages including Portuguese and Spanish. _______________________
