(January 27, 2010) The Gateway Grizzlies will be on a new radio station this season -- KFNS, 590-AM.
The Grizzlies have announced a comprehensive marketing agreement with Grand Slam Sports, the parent company of 590 The Fan KFNS, KFNS.com and St. Louis Sports Magazine. As part of the agreement, all Gateway Grizzlies games in 2010 will live air on 590 The Fan KFNS and KFNS.com. Gatway games had been broadcast on WSIE, 88.7-FM. "We are very excited to partner with the Gateway Grizzlies," Grand Slam Sports President Dave Greene said. "They are a first-class organization and Steve Gomric and Joe Pott share our vision for what a good partnership should be. Grand Slam Sports looks forward to being a resource for the Grizzlies and their fans." More than just a radio deal, the Grizzlies, KFNS and St. Louis Sports Magazine will team up for various promotions throughout the year. "This is a great deal for the Grizzlies," Grizzlies General Manager Steve Gomric said. "The exposure on KFNS and in St. Louis Sports magazine will be a great benefit to us. We'll be able to join with the radio station and the magazine to provide Grizzlies fans, and sports fans in general, some fun opportunities throughout the year." Pott, the veteran and entertaining Gateway broadcaster, returns for his 10th season as part of Grizzlies radio. 2010 will mark his ninth full season behind the Grizzlies' mike. It is the longest tenure of any broadcaster in Frontier League history. "I'm thrilled to be working with the folks at KFNS," Pott said. "It is great that our games will be heard on a premier all-sports station in St. Louis. I have worked with Dave Greene and his staff extensively and I look forward to continuing that relationship with the Grizzlies." The Grizzlies open their 10th anniversary season in the Frontier League on May 21. Season ticket plans are currently on sale by calling the GCS Ballpark Box Office at 618-337-3000. _______________________
