(January 27, 2010) Boise State football and basketball games will continue to air on KTVB (Channel 7) for the next five years.
The agreement was announced Monday by Bronco Sports Properties, the arm of Learfield Sports that takes control of Boise State's multimedia rights in 2010-11. KTVB also has been the home of Broncos athletics for the past five years. No decision has been made on who the announcers will be. The deal calls for all available football games to air on KTVB. At least three men's basketball games will air on digital 7.2, KTVB's 24/7 channel. Coaches' shows for football and men's basketball will air on Sunday nights on KTVB. Football games and the "Chris Petersen Show" will air on KTFT in Twin Falls as well. BSP plans to add additional affiliates around the state as well. A few notes from Dan Hawley, the general manager of BSP: — Bronco Sports Properties will produce the TV and radio broadcasts and choose the on-air talent. — BSP hasn't decided on a TV production partner, but it won't necessarily be KTVB. Hawley wouldn't rule out the possibility of high-definition picture. "Providing the highest-quality broadcast that we can do for the university is the ultimate goal," he said. "Obviously, the dollars need to match up." — The coaches' shows will last 10-15 minutes and air after Sunday Night Football during football season and after the news during basketball season. _______________________
