Tom Ackerman promoted at KMOXCourtesy KMOX
(January 15, 2010) Tom Ackerman has been promoted to Sports Director at KMOX in St. Louis. Ackerman has been serving as Manager of Sports Operations. He also serves as the sports anchor on "Total Information A.M."
Ackerman has worked at KMOX since 1997. For eight years, he hosted the nation's longest-running sports talk show, "Sports Open Line." In his new role, he will oversee the nightly KMOX Sports Open Line with Kevin Wheeler and Sports On a Sunday Morning with Ron Jacober. Ackerman, 34, has handled play-by-play duties for University of Missouri men's basketball, worked the sidelines on Missouri football broadcasts, and hosted pregame and postgame shows for the St. Louis Cardinals and St. Louis Blues. He also calls play-by-play of Missouri Valley Conference football and men's basketball games and serves as the sideline reporter for the Valley's conference tournament on Fox Sports Net. _______________________
