Dwight Jaynes joins Portland's Game
(January 14, 2010) Award-winning sports writer Dwight Jaynes is returning to the broadcasting game, literally.

KXTG-FM 95.5 The Game announced Thursday that Jaynes has joined Gavin Dawson and Chad Doing as co-host of the Morning Sports Page, weekdays 6-9 a.m.

Jaynes brings more than 25 years of sports journalism, having worked as a columnist for the Oregon Journal and the Oregonian. He hosted a talk show at KPAM and was publisher, editor and sports columnist at the Portland Tribune. The five-time Oregon Sportswriter of the Year has also co-authored two books on the Portland Trail Blazers: “The Long Hot Winter” with Rick Adelman and “Against the World” with Kerry Eggers.

“The opportunity to get back into sports radio is a dream come true and better still is the chance to join the fantastic team on The Game,” Jaynes said in a statement. “Gavin and Chad are incredibly generous to share what was already a winning show with me.”

“We call him The Godfather here at the station because his wealth of knowledge just demands respect,” said Brian Jennings, director of talk programming for the Alpha Broadcasting stations, in a statement. “It’s great to have him as a permanent fixture on 95.5 The Game.”

KXTG-FM is owned and operated by Portland-based Alpha Broadcasting, along with KXL-AM, KUPL-FM, KINK-FM, KUFO-FM and KCMD-AM.
