Clear Channel Radio, a unit of San Antonio-based Clear Channel Communications Inc., has been the Vikings’ radio partner since 2001.

Under the deal, Clear Channel’s KFAN-AM will continue to broadcast all of the Vikings’ games and air additional Vikings-related programming, including a year-round Vikings show. According to a press release, “fans also will see an increased Vikings presence across all local Clear Channel stations and Web sites.”

In addition to KFAN, Clear Channel operates six other Twin Cities radio stations, including KTLK-FM and KDWB-FM.

“We are excited to extend and grow our radio partnership with Clear Channel and KFAN, which will take us beyond a decade together,” Steve LaCroix, the Vikings’ vice president of sales and marketing and chief marketing officer, said in a statement. “We feel we have the best radio broadcast team in the NFL calling the action on game days and we look forward to expanding the Vikings brand across all Clear Channel stations.”

KFAN talk-show host Paul Allen serves as the Vikings’ play-by-play announcer for radio broadcasts, while former Vikings linebacker and assistant coach Pete Bercich provides color commentary. Former Vikings punter Greg Coleman is the sideline reporter.
