Team 1010 adds two local shows
Press Release
(January 7, 2010) Team 1010 KXPS, the desert cities only All-Sports radio station, announced the launch of two local programs today that will compliment its existing all-star line-up of shows including those hosted by Dan Patrick, Jim Rome, Chris Myers, Steve Hartman and Tony Bruno.

Weekday afternoons on KXPS 1010 AM, beginning Monday, January 11, will feature local conversation on an all-new and improved SportsBuzz. The program will air from 4 to 7 pm, and be hosted by Julie Buehler (left), whose past experience includes football coverage for KXPS, and radio, television and print media experience throughout Southern California.

“Julie has become a favorite with Team 1010 listeners over the past couple of years,” says John McMullen, the station’s program director. “She’s smart and knows her stuff whether its basketball, baseball or football. And, she’s not afraid to go toe-to-toe with the boys, which makes each days program something to look forward to.”

KXPS will also be launching the region’s only radio program exclusively dedicated to conversation about golf on Saturday, January 16. Former golf pro Roger Dibble will be at the microphone in The Caddyshack from 6 to 8 am every Saturday morning talking with local golf enthusiasts. And, there’s going to be a great mix of students, amateurs and pros joining the discussion. From news of the Tours to how to improve your game, and everything in between, The Caddyshack promises to be all-encompassing in the world of golf.

In addition to being heard on AM 1010, The Caddyshack will be the Morris Desert Radio Group’s first cross-over program to be simulcast on sister station KNews Radio (94.3 FM, AM 970 & 1140 in the Coachella Valley, and AM 1250 in Yucca Valley). Market Manager Norman Feuer says that this will give a program with such broad appeal, the widest possible opportunity to reach listeners throughout the desert cities.

“Golf is one of the major draws for people visiting or living in the region. And, as a major contributor to our local economy, we are thrilled to be able to reach more people than any other radio outlet in the region with a quality program like The Caddyshack,” he said.

KXPS will also be the Coachella Valley’s exclusive home for NFL playoff coverage including the Pro Bowl and SuperBowl XLIV. The station is heard at 1010 AM and online at www.Team1010.com.
