Charter picks up Big Ten NetworkCourtesy
St. Louis Post Dispatch
(January 1, 2010) Charter Communications, the largest cable television provider in the St. Louis market, will add Big Ten Network for its digital subscribers effective Monday. The network carries an extensive package of sporting events from the conference, including the Iowa-Illinois men's basketball game Tuesday night.
Charter's digital TV customers will receive the network on Channel 414. In an arrangement similar to that for MLB Network, which airs on Channel 412, a subscription to Charter's sports tier is not needed. In a nutshell, Charter spokesman John Miller said those who receive MLB Network will be getting Big Ten Network. Charter still doesn't carry NFL Network. _______________________
