Sportscaster Tiemann turns to bloggingCourtesy
Rogers State University
(December 18, 2009) Rogers State hoops fans have a fresh resource for all things Hillcat basketball thanks to a new blog launched by veteran play-by-play broadcaster and STAA client Shawn Tiemann.Tiemann, in his third year covering the Hillcats for RSU Radio and RSU Public Television, has developed an online medium at www.rsupbp.blogspot.com. The website can also be accessed by visiting www.rsuhillcats.com. The site features Tiemann’s insight and analysis regarding Hillcat hoops. He recently unveiled an audio blog segment entitled “5 Questions” in which he sits down with select RSU players and attempts to get them to answer five, random, rapid-fire questions. Tiemann’s blog also touches on topics such as life on the road, developments in the Sooner Athletic Conference and NAIA National Tournament implications. The open forum encourages readers to leave comments and interact with the voice of Hillcat basketball. The broadcaster’s blog is the latest in a list of social media initiatives launched by the RSU sports information department this year. Four Hillcat student-athletes have been commissioned to blog about their experiences on the Hill during the 2009-10 school year. Women’s soccer goalie Bailey Lynn, baseball pitcher Jake Taylor, women’s basketball guard Hunter Peterson and softball third basemen Katie Bointy are all chronicling the highs and lows of life as a Hillcat athlete.
