Boise State returning to KBOI
(December 10, 2009) Citadel Broadcasting will be the home of Boise State football and men’s basketball once again.

Bronco Sports Properties, a division of Learfield Sports, announced the five-year agreement with Citadel Broadcasting and its KBOI-AM and KKGL-FM stations Thursday morning. Widespread media reports circulated the news Wednesday night in the Treasure Valley.

Citadel had been the flagship for Boise State sports for 35 years from 1972 to 2007, but Peak Broadcasting and KIDO-AM held the broadcast rights for the last two years.

KBOI (670 AM) and KKGL (96.9 FM) will simulcast football games, including the spring game and pre- and post-game shows. Coach Chris Petersen will have a Tuesday night call-in show during the season. The pre-game show is scheduled for three hours and the post-game show will be one hour.

All Boise State men’s basketball games will be carried on KBOI, which will also broadcast a coach's show with Greg Graham and 30-minute pre- and post-game shows.

Bob Behler, who has called games for KIDO the last two years, is expected to continue those duties at KBOI.

“It is the intent of Bronco Sports Properties, Boise State Athletics and Citadel to have Bob Behler return as the voice of the Broncos next fall, and we will enter into such discussions with Bob at the appropriate time,” Dan Hawley, the general manager for Bronco Sports Properties, said in the statement announcing the news.
