(December 4, 2009) STAA client Matt Andrews has been promoted to Director of Broadcasting for the Louisville Bats. Andrews replaces Jim Kelch, who has been hired by the Cincinnati Reds.
The Bats are the Triple-A affiliate of the Reds. Andrews has served as Kelch's radio partner with the Bats since 2003. He arrived at the Bats after a two-year stint with the Chillicothe Paints in the Independent Frontier League. Andrews is in his second season serving as a basketball radio voice for Morehead State and also called Eagles football games for the first time in 2009. A graduate of The Ohio State University, Andrews called numerous Buckeye athletic events for OSU student radio, including Ohio State's National Championship in the 2003 Fiesta Bowl. "We are pleased to announce that Matt Andrews has been promoted to Director of Broadcasting and will be our lead radio announcer," said Ulmer. "Matt is very talented and is well prepared to assume additional responsibilities within our organization." Andrews said, "Today is a dream come true for Jim and me. It is an honor to serve the Louisville Bats in a lead radio role and I thank them for this opportunity. I look forward to continuing with the excellent tradition of Bats Baseball on the radio." _______________________
