STAA's Casson chosen to call ACHA hockey in Europe
Press Release

(November 23, 2009) The American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) announced that STAA client Steve Casson, the Broadcaster/Owner of WebSports Radio, has been selected by the association to travel with the ACHA Division 2 Select Hockey Team to Europe as their play-by-play broadcaster.

From December 26, 2009 to January 7, 2010 the Division 2 Select Team, which is comprised of hockey players from both the United States and Canada and chosen from the over 170 colleges and universities that are members of the Division 2 community, will participate in games against squads from Switzerland, Germany, Austria, France, and Italy in front of sell out crowds of 3000-5000 fans at each venue.

“We know Steve Casson is someone who will provide a professional broadcast based on what he has done with Missouri State, and for this reason we asked him to bring the games from Europe back home to the United States,” said ACHA Division 2 Commissioner Mike Radakovich.

“I am honored to be asked to provide play-by-play coverage of the Select team as they travel through Europe,” said Casson. “Along with the live broadcasts, I will be writing a daily internet blog about the trip complete with video and pictures.”

The voice of the Missouri State Ice Bears Hockey Team for the past 5 seasons, Casson has also broadcast games for other hockey teams during the ACHA Division 2 Regional and Mid-America Collegiate Hockey Association playoffs every year since the 2005 season.

“Not only is this an incredible situation for the players to showcase their skills overseas, but this is an amazing opportunity for me."
