Next week, the Pittsburgh Penguins will start airing a weekly 30-minute Russian-language radio show, “The N.H.L. in Russian,” on their new HD radio station, according to Tony F of The Confluence, a former Hockey Night in Blogdom correspondent now writing for Kukla’s Korner. The program, broadcast over 105.9 HD2 and streamed live on the Penguins and N.H.L. Web sites, will debut on Nov. 24. The host each week will be Gera Bittman, a Ukrainian-born Penguins front-office employee, and the guests on the premiere will be Penguins center Evgeni Malkin and former N.H.L. star Igor Larionov.

On Monday the K.H.L.’s long-promised English-language version of the league’s Web site rolled out at this Web address. It will enable non-Russian-speakers to follow the K.H.L., and may help end our maddening habit of linking to summaries of Russian games in Cyrillic lettering. Most of the English-language content on the site consists of game recaps and basic statistics, but it will enable North Americans to easily follow the exploits of Jaromir Jagr, Alexander Radulov and Jiri Hudler.
