(November 10, 2009) STAA client Tom Kolker has landed a sports talk show in Portland, OR. Kolker and Matt Richert are co-hosting The Fast Break on 1360 KUIK.

The show airs Monday through Friday from 6pm-7pm and will be the launching point for KUIK’s new all evening sports line up that will include a mix of live play-by-play games and sports talk from Sports Byline.

The Fast Break will have a strong emphasis on westside content including coverage of prep sports and local colligate teams. The Fast Break will also feature a mix pro and college talk with weekly features covering many of the teams KUIK Radio covers including the Oregon Ducks, USC Trojans, San Francisco Giants and 49ers. (Don’t worry OSU fans, we got the Beavers covered too.)

Kolker and Richert co-hosted a show on ESPN Radio for a year and are excited to reunite for The Fast Break.

Kolker is a native of Washington DC. He started his broadcasting career calling George Washington University basketball and Georgetown University football. After graduating from GWU, Kolker moved to Astoria Oregon where he co-hosted a morning sports talk show on ESPN Radio. After a year on the coast he made the transition to Portland and spent three years as the Sports Director for KUIK Radio.

Kolker is currently in his third season as the play-by-play voice of the University of Portland men’s basketball team.
