Mike Lindskog leaving Springfield CardinalsCourtesy
Ozarks First
(November 4, 2009) The Springfield Cardinals announced that radio broadcaster and media relations director Mike Lindskog is leaving the team.
Lindskog will be the new radio play-by-play man for the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes, the Class A affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels. He replaces Jeff Levering. Lindskog has been the only "Voice of the Springfield Cardinals" in the team's five-year history. In a press release, Lindskog said, "Leaving Springfield is professionally and personally, one of the hardest things I've ever had to do. The friendships I've made here have been incredible and the way the fans have treated me means so much to me. The city of Springfield and the Cardinals' organization will always be very special to me. Thank you!" General Manager Matt Gifford said, "Mike's impact on this organization and in the community, both on and off the air, have been immeasurable. We're all going to miss him, but wish him and his family the very best. We will now begin a comprehensive nationwide search for Mike's replacement." _______________________
