Bellarmine University
(November 3, 2009) Bellarmine University announced today that it has reached an agreement to broadcast its men’s basketball games on WGTK AM-970. The deal creates the Bellarmine University Basketball Network presented by Dismas Charities and establishes a broadcast outlet for all Bellarmine men’s basketball games this season.
Play-by-play duties will be handled by Nick Curran, and Stan Hardin will provide color commentary. Curran is an up-and-coming broadcaster who has experience calling Western Kentucky University and Warren Central High School sports as well as with WLKY-TV and WAVE-TV. Hardin has been a fixture on the local basketball scene for years having won back to back state high championships as a coach at Fairdale. He also has coached at the collegiate level, serving on the staff at South Carolina and as head coach at St. Catharine College. The deal allows all men’s Bellarmine basketball games to be broadcast live. In addition, four women’s away games will also be aired. Those games are Northern Kentucky, Southern Indiana, Kentucky Wesleyan and the University of Indianapolis. The first broadcast will be Nov. 4 at 7 p.m. as the Knights take on the University of Louisville in an exhibition contest. _______________________
