Normal CornBelters sign radio deal
(November 3, 2009) All games for the Frontier League's new Normal CornBelters will be heard on 93.7 FM WTRX, WTRXTheOldiesChannel.com and normalbaseball.com.

"We are excited to have Radio Bloomington as a partner and looking forward to quality broadcasting of Normal CornBelters games this upcoming season” said Steve Malliet, President of the CornBelters. The Normal CornBelters will play their first Frontier League game on Friday, May 21, 2010 in Evansville, Indiana, with the team’s first home game scheduled for June 1.

Radio Bloomington Vice President/General Manager Red Pitcher called the partnership a perfect fit. “Bloomington/Normal has a rich history in baseball, from amateur to professional,” Pitcher said. “Along the way WJBC and its family of stations have followed the first to last pitch. It is only natural that we partner with the CornBelters organization as they bring professional baseball back to the Twin Cities. We are looking forward to many exciting evenings and afternoons at the ball yard.”

Radio Bloomington is Bloomington-Normal’s dominant broadcast entity. Its stations are:
WJBC (1230 AM and WJBC.com), WBNQ (101.5 FM and WBNQ.com), B104 (104.1 FM and WBWN.com), WTRX (93.7 FM and WTRXOldiesChannel.com) and WJEZ (98.9 FM and WJEZ.com).

WTRX already serves as the broadcast outlet for the Bloomington Prairie Thunder and the Bloomington Extreme. WJBC is the award-winning flagship station for Illinois State University Athletics and Illinois Wesleyan University sports.
