Atlanta's Zone partners with WGCL-TV for sports coverage

(October 29, 2009) Big League Broadcasting-owned Sports WQXI-AM (Sports Radio 790 The Zone)/Atlanta inks a partnership with WGCL-TV CBS for all local and national sports coverage. The Zone will provide all on-air content and hosts for CBS Atlanta newscasts and original sports programming including Sportsline, the SEC Wrap-Up Show and the CBS Atlanta Dawg Show.

"For the last 13 years, 790 The Zone has been the brand for sports in Atlanta and we could not be more excited about this partnership with CBS Atlanta and their core sports properties including the NFL, SEC Football, March Madness and the Masters. This dynamic alliance will only strengthen our ability to connect to the Atlanta sports fan", said WQXI President Andrew Saltzman.

"This is a successful partnership for Atlanta sports fans and WGCL-TV," said WGCL-TV Senior VP/General Manager Kirk Black. "The experience and personality of Atlanta's premiere sports talk radio station will add valuable resources to CBS Atlanta."

790 The Zone will be integrated into the sports programming of CBS Atlanta, effective immediately.
