The Ticket still tops in Dallas
(October 12, 2009) The sun comes up in the morning, and The Ticket dominates sports talk radio ratings in Dallas-Fort Worth. You can set your monthly sundial to those facts.

Where are all the people who claimed Ticket ratings would be impacted when the more sophisticated Arbitron upgraded to portable people meters to replace the ancient diary system earlier this year?

The Ticket remains No. 1 in sports talk every Monday-through-Friday hour from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. in the only demographic that matters men aged 25 to 54.

ESPN is No. 2 in 10 of those hours, and the Fan is No. 2 in three hours.

ESPN's national import Colin Cowherd remains a solid No. 3 in his two late morning hours, and the 2 p.m. hour of Galloway & Company , which is always sans Galloway, is also No. 3.

Football season has been good to Michael Irvin's ESPN show, which has pushed The Fan's Newy Scruggs and Richie Whitt back to third place in their three head-to-head hours.

Here are the overall Arbitron rankings for September in men 25-54 Monday-Friday from 6 am-7 pm:

Sports Radio 1310 The Ticket is No. 1 among all radio stations in the market with a 7.7 rating; ESPN 103.3-FM is 13th at 3.0; and The Fan, 105.3-FM, is 22nd with a 2.1.
