Del Rio cancels Garrard's radio showAP
(October 5, 2009) Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback David Garrard thought that hosting a weekly radio show was a good idea. He was meeting fans, answering questions, giving away tickets, and previewing the team's games.
But when coach Jack Del Rio learned about the show, which he found while flipping through radio stations while driving, he quashed it immediately. Del Rio's main issue was the timing of the show, which aired live on Fridays. "Less than 48 hours away from the game, it's not even a question," Del Rio said yesterday. "I don't even understand how anybody could ever advise somebody to think about doing something like that. It makes no sense." Garrard said, "I totally understand where he's coming from." _______________________
