(September 10, 2009) Monmouth University's Department of Communication and Communication Council will offer "An Evening with Jim Nantz" on Oct. 6 with a VIP reception beginning at 5:30 p.m. in the Multipurpose Activity Center at Monmouth University.
The Asbury Park Press is the presenting sponsor of the event and Maureen Bay, a 1975 graduate of Monmouth and owner of Gem of an Idea, Fair Haven, is the award sponsor. Nantz will receive this year's Monmouth University Award for Communication Excellence, known as the MACE. Nantz, a Colts Neck native who works for CBS Sports, is an Emmy winner and four-time National Sportscaster of the Year. He will share sports stories and personal memories and give an insider's look at the changing role of sports media. _______________________
