Sportscaster Rooke to call Big East gamesCourtesy

(September 3, 2009) Six conference matchups and a key nonconference game highlight the 2009 BIG EAST/ISP Football Game of the Week schedule announced Monday, marking the third consecutive year that the BIG EAST and ISP Sports have partnered to distribute national radio broadcasts of conference football games.
The list of stations that will carry the BIG EAST games will be announced at a later date and will vary from week to week, depending on game times, prior station commitments and blackout restrictions protecting BIG EAST member school networks. Last year’s affiliate list had stations representing 15 of the country’s top 20 radio markets. All games will be carried on Sirius XM satellite radio and will be available for free on the BIG EAST’s official Web site at BIGEAST.tv. Veteran broadcaster John Rooke and former NFL standout Pete Brock will once again call the action for all seven games. Rooke currently serves as the play-by-play voice of the Providence College men’s basketball team and he has also called football and basketball for ESPN Regional Television. Brock was a 12-year offensive lineman for the New England Patriots who has handled pregame and postgame duties on the Patriots radio network. _______________________
