Sportscaster Andrews tells Oprah about video

(September 1, 2009) Erin Andrews says on an upcoming episode of The Oprah Winfrey Show that she's "excited to get back to work" and feels "like it's really going to heal my wounds."

Andrews was videotaped through what appeared to be a peephole while nude in a hotel room and the footage surfaced briefly online in July.

Andrews last appeared on ESPN for its Espy Awards show on July 19 has been off-air since for what ESPN says was planned vacation. She returns Thursday for football sideline reporting at the South Carolina-North Carolina State game.

She last week taped the Oprah show, which will air Sept. 11, to give what she said would be her "first and last" interview on the online tape. Andrews says coping with the videotape has been a "nightmare" that was exacerbated by media attention, although it wasn't reported on ESPN. "People have a story they have to cover," she says. "But I just felt like I was continuing to be victimized. I did nothing wrong."

In the interview, Andrews recounts how the videotape affected her at the time it was online: "I opened up the computer and could feel my heart pounding."

The quotes released by the show don't include anything about whether Andrews has any idea how or when the video was shot. Marshall Grossman, her attorney, has said he hoped to pursue criminal or civil lawsuits if anyone responsible for the taping was identified.
