Ducks hockey hires radio analyst
(August 25, 2009) The Anaheim Ducks have hired the Orange County Register's Dan Wood as the team's new radio color analyst.

Wood has 17 years of covering NHL teams, having covered the Ducks for the Register since 2000, and covering the San Jose Sharks for the Contra Costa Times from 1991-2000.

“Dan has a well-established credibility with our fan base,” Ducks Director of Broadcasting Aaron Teats said in a statement on the Ducks' Web site. “His knowledge of the game and writing expertise makes him an extremely versatile part of our broadcast team. We are thrilled to have him aboard.”

In addition to his radio duties, Wood will contribute to the team's Web site.

“We'll miss Dan and his great reporting, but we're excited about his new opportunity,” John Fabris, the Register's deputy editor for sports, said in a report on the paper's Web site.

In addition to the addition of Wood, the team also announced it has reached an agreement with AM 830 KLAA to keep the station as the flagship radio station for the Ducks.
