On Monday, ABC announced Irvin would be a contestant on the upcoming Dancing With The Stars season that debuts Sept. 21.

In addition, Irvin appears on the verge of signing with the NFL Network to join its in-season Sunday pregame and postgame studio shows. And finally, ESPN-FM 103.3 program director Tom Lee confirmed he expects Irvin to sign a new contract soon to continue with the local radio talk show he has hosted since January of 2008.

In the fall, Irvin will have to work his local radio show around Monday and Tuesday appearances on Dancing With The Stars and full Sundays at NFL Network studios. The TV shows are based in Los Angeles.

"The thing I enjoy doing most is the radio show," Irvin said of his weekday 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. show. "It's the best part of my day. I am never letting go of the show."

An NFL Network spokesman confirmed that negotiations are in the final stages to have Irvin work in the studio with the likes of former Dancing With The Stars contestant Warren Sapp, Steve Mariucci, Marshall Faulk and former Cowboys teammate Deion Sanders.

Irvin worked on ESPN's NFL studio shows from 2003 to 2006. He left when the two sides could not come to terms on a contract renewal in February 2007, shortly after his induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

"I love working," Irvin said. "Believe me I have the energy to work and work and work."
