ORU sports get new radio dealCourtesy

(August 14, 2009) Oral Roberts University Athletics has signed a one-year contract, including an option for a second year, with Sports Animal Tulsa to continue as the radio home for all ORU men’s basketball, women’s basketball and baseball broadcasts. Sports Animal Tulsa has been the home for all ORU athletics since 2007.
Under the terms of the agreement, the Sports Animal Tulsa will carry all men’s basketball games and The ORU Coaches Hour weekly show Monday nights on KYAL 97.1 FM during basketball season. Women’s basketball and baseball games will be carried on 1550 AM, with select broadcasts simulcast on 97.1 FM. “We're very excited to continue our partnership with KYAL and the Sports Animal Network,” said ORU Assoc. Athletic Director for Marketing Scott Higgins. “The Sports Animal is the top sports station in the area. They have been great to work with in the past and we are looking forward to continuing what has been a very successful relationship." The Sports Animal Tulsa is comprised of three stations: 97.1 FM (100,000 watts), AM 1550 (2,500 watts daytime), and AM 1490 (1,000 watts), giving it the strongest sports-radio presence in Oklahoma. Veteran broadcaster and STAA client Geoff Haxton will handle play-by-play duties for all three sports, as well as serving as host for The ORU Coaches Hour. _______________________
