(August 10, 2009) Former Rutgers quarterback Ray Lucas will join the Rutgers Football Radio Network as a color analyst, the school announced Friday. Lucas, who quarterbacked the Scarlet Knights from 1992-95, will replace Tim Pernetti, now the Rutgers Director of Athletics.

Lucas will broadcast alongside Chris Carlin, the play-by-play announcer, and Anthony Fucilli, the sideline reporter. Marc Malusis is the pre- and post-game host.

"We are thrilled to bring Ray back to Rutgers as part of our radio broadcast team," Pernetti said. "He has a terrific understanding of the game and a great foundation in television with his work on SNY. We are excited to have a professional with his talents joining our radio crew."

Lucas was a standout quarterback for the Scarlet Knights during the early '90s, passing for 5,896 yards and 43 touchdowns.

After a seven-year career in the NFL in which he played for four teams, Lucas joined SNY in 2006 as an NFL analyst.
