(August 5, 2009) Oklahoma will be adding a new voice to its football radio broadcast team.
KWTV's Toby Rowland will be the Sooners' new sideline reporter, the school announced Wednesday. "I am truly honored," said Rowland, who replaces former OU tight end Trent Smith on the sidelines. "Working with OU has been a thrill the last several years. And to get the opportunity to join the broadcast team during such an exciting time for Sooner athletics is humbling." Rowland, who also hosts a sports talk radio show in the mornings on KREF, Sports Talk Radio 1400, will join the Sooner broadcast crew of Bob Barry Sr. and Merv Johnson. KREF, meanwhile, will become the broadcast home for Sooner baseball and softball, the school also announced. _______________________
