Jacksonville sports station drops FMCourtesy
Jaksonville Observer
(August 3, 2009) Sports talk station 1010XL, which has aired it’s programming on 105.3 FM for the last year, is leaving that frequency.
“On July 31, 2009 our agreement to provide 1010 XL’s programming to the company that owns 105.3 FM expires. The parties have mutually agreed not to extend that agreement,” read an announcement emailed to fans of the station. “You will continue to hear 1010 XL’s programming on 1010-AM and on 1010XL.com. Those of you that live and work on the North Side and in South Georgia will now be able to hear 1010 XL on the FM band at 92.5 FM.” The sports station will be replaced on 105.3 by Andy Johnson’s local Progressive Talk lineup, including his signature “Down to Business with Andy Johnson” program. Johnson’s programming previously aired on the much weaker 92.5 frequency. “1010 XL’s parent company Seven Bridges Radio is committed to quality sports programming on the FM band. We are in the process of purchasing an FM station with a stronger, more powerful signal that will allow us to reach more sports fans on the First Coast,” reads the 1010XL announcement. “Most of your favorite 105.3 FM shows will be moving over to 1010 XL.” _______________________
