Marv Albert will remain with Westwood One radio to call Monday Night Football alongside Boomer Esiason, but the network has made some changes, most notably replacing Tommy Tighe as studio host with former Phillies announcer Scott Graham. Sean Pendergast has signed a new two-year agreement with KGOW (1560 AM), according to station GM Richard Topper. Topper also said Sporting News Radio host Tim Brando’s show will debut on the station Aug. 17 and that Brando will broadcast from Houston on Aug. 20-21. (Courtesy Houston Chronicle)
• Just as Notre Dame football has a home on NBC, Army has agreed to air its home games and neutral site games in which it is the home team on CBS College Sports from 2010 through 2014. Erin Andrews is not expected back on the air until early September. An ESPN spokesperson says it has nothing to do with the recent controversy over a nude video of her surfacing on the Internet, The spokesman said Andrews already was scheduled to be off from mid-July until early September. • The NFL draft will move to Thursday primetime next year on April 22, with the first round starting at 7:30 p.m. ET. Then, it will begin again on Friday, April 23 at 6:30 p.m. ET with the second and third rounds. The remainder of the draft will occur starting Saturday, April 24 at 10:00 a.m. It will continue to be carried on ESPN as well as the NFL Network. (Courtesy USA Today)
• ESPN 710 in Los Angeles has added Mychal Thompson and Andrew Siciliano weekdays from 11 am to 3 pm. Thompson comes over from cross-town 570 KLAC. Siciliano most recently worked at Fox Sports Radio Network.

Adam Kuperstein, NBC 6's No. 2 sportscaster, is no longer anchoring sports on weekends and instead is reporting sports and human-interest stories. Weekend newscaster Amara Sohn is narrating weekend sportscasts. ``I'm enjoying what I'm doing,'' he said. ``The only thing disappointing is Sports Final [on Sundays] is not on the air.'' • The latest radio ratings are out and, despite a dismal season by the Padres, XX Sports 1090 held at 1.6, No. 23 in the market. XTRA Sports 1360 could finally be making a dent in the market after a year on the air. The station checked in with a 0.6 rating. That's not great, but it's a significant improvement from 0.0. ESPN 800, which has been stripped down to a local staff of one, checked in at 0.4, up from 0.0 in past ratings books. (Courtesy North County Times)

• Sources say brash broadcaster Mike North has signed a new lead sponsor for his still newish "Monsters in the Morning" sports talk show on Comcast SportsNet Chicago: the Burr Ridge-based Laborers-Employers Cooperation and Education Trust -- commonly referred to by the acronym LECET. • Get a higher paying football, basketball, baseball or hockey play-by-play job with coaching from NBA and ESPN pros!
• Former SportsCenter anchor Rich Eisen, dropped by ESPN in 2003, will next month be back on the channel. But Eisen, now an NFL Network anchor, will just be making a single appearance — albeit one that will last several hours. He'll replace Chris Berman as the host of the Pro Football Hall of Fame's induction ceremony on Aug. 9, which will air both on ESPN and NFLN. • Largely overlooked during coverage of Walter Cronkite's death was the fact the legendary newsman hosted the first televised Olympics. Cronkite kept CBS viewers apprised to competition on the slopes and at the ice rinks during the 1960 Winter Games from Squaw Valley. The 15 hours, aired over 11 days, were broadcast mostly in the daytime. Cronkite's legendary career also included a few other sports broadcasting assignments in the 1930s, including the re-creation of college football games for KCMO-AM in Kansas City, Mo. • Nuggets, Avalanche and Rapids games will remain on KCKK 1510 AM for at least two more seasons under a new agreement between Mile High Sports Radio and Kroenke Sports Enterprises. (Courtesy Denver Post)
• Several readers continue to ask who will team with Dave Logan this season in the Broncos' booth on KOA 850 AM. Station management said several weeks ago that because of the economy, freelancer David Diaz-Infante would not be back and that the position would be filled internally. An announcement hasn't been made.The deal silences, for now, rumors Kroenke would buy an AM outlet, which would air the games. • Perhaps Versus should change its name to Strong. The sports cable channel's audience ratings for the first 10 stops on the Tour de France were up 77 percent over last year when Lance Armstrong didn't compete. (Courtesy Denver Post)
• Boston, St. Louis and Milwaukee are the nation's best major-league baseball towns if gauged by audience ratings of locally produced cable games during the first half of this season. The Rockies, aired on FSN Rocky Mountain, were a respectable 14th among the 30 franchises. (Courtesy Denver Post)
