Sportscaster Berry joins Tri-City Storm
Press Release
(July 31, 2009) The Tri-City Storm of the United States Hockey League is pleased to announce the addition of Skip Berry to the staff as Director of Media Relations & Broadcasting. Berry fills a newly created full-time position that will be a media liaison for all Storm related operations. Additionally, Berry will be the play-by-play audio announcer for the Storm.

Berry brings a proven track record and a wealth of knowledge in media relations. He has been in radio broadcasting for nine years (since 2000) going on a decade in the radio business entering this season with the Storm. He has been involved in many facets of media ranging from news radio and producing commercials to play-by-play for sports including hockey, football, basketball, and baseball. Most recently Berry spent last season as the Director of Broadcasting/Media-Relations for the Bismarck Bobcats of the North American Hockey League.

On the broadcasting side, Berry will call the action for Storm games on the B2 Networks, an on-line audio stream of all Tri-City Storm games. Additionally, Berry could be the radio voice of Storm hockey as the organization is currently in negotiations to broadcast Storm games on local radio airwaves. He will bring a passion and knowledge of hockey to the fans of this team and the league.

“It’s truly an honor and a dream-come-true for me to be a part of the United States Hockey League and particularly the Tri-City Storm. My wife and I were pleased with our visit to Kearney and after meeting the people in the Tri-City area it was clear that this is where we wanted to be and spend time raising our son.”

Berry will reside in Kearney with his wife, Emily, and their two-month-old son, Kellen.
