(July 23, 2009) Longtime sportscaster Kevin Kugler will transition from NCAA Football to the National Football League as a member of the play-by-play broadcast team for the upcoming 2009-2010 season beginning September 13. Kugler will host alongside color analyst Mark Malone on Sunday doubleheaders on Westwood One's NFL Radio broadcasts. He currently handles afternoons at KOZN-AM (The Zone) in Omaha.

Kugler, a five-time Nebraska Sportscaster of the Year award recipient and former member of the USA Broadcast Team at the 2008 Summer Olympic Games in Beijing, is thrilled about joining the NFL broadcast team stating, "It's such an honor to be a part of this lineup of legendary air talent. I am sincerely grateful for the chance to join the NFL, it's an opportunity of a lifetime."

For the past three seasons Kugler has been the lead voice of the College Football Game of the Week and has called the past five College World Series events in Omaha for Westwood One. In addition, Kugler hosted the NCAA Men's Final Four broadcast, the Masters and NCAA regular season college basketball.
