WOMEN OUT ON NFL PREGAME SHOWS

USA Today
(July 10, 2009) This season, the network TV NFL studio show sets — at least when it comes to the on-air types — will go back to being men's clubs. Though female reporters will contribute pieces for the shows, the in-studio casts will be exclusively male.
Jillian Reynolds, who gave weather tips and sometimes risqué quips on Fox's show, is expecting her second child in December. Fox is to announce today that she won't be on this season's shows. Fox producer Scott Ackerson says her role on the show is open-ended — "Jillian is always part of the family" — and she won't be replaced by another weather reporter. Reynolds was the only woman who was an in-studio regular on pregame shows. _______________________
