K-STATE SIGNS TOPEKA RADIO DEAL
(June 25, 2009) Topeka radio stations owned or operated by Cumulus Media Inc. have signed a new radio network agreement with K-State Sports Properties through the 2011 season, the parties announced Thursday.

Kansas State University football and men’s basketball will be heard on US-103, KQTP-FM 102.9. Wildcat baseball and women’s basketball will be broadcast on 1490-AM, ESPN KTOP. US-103 also will carry the coach’s shows for both football and men’s basketball.

“We’re really excited with our new agreement,” said Spike Santee, Cumulus senior vice president in charge of the six stations in Topeka, in a statement announcing the pact.

“We want to be involved with Kansas State right now because we want to be the positive voice for K-State in the Topeka and Shawnee County area,” Santee said. “This is an exciting time for the university and the athletic program.”

Santee added all six radio stations at the Cumulus Broadcast Center in downtown Topeka would carry “positive stories” about events and activities at Kansas State throughout the terms of the broadcast agreement.

Atlanta-based Cumulus Media Inc. is the second largest radio broadcast company in the United States based on the number of stations owned or operated, with 375 radio stations in 67 markets.
