101 ESPN RADIO RECEIVES ACCOLADES
Press Release
(June 10, 2009) 101 ESPN was recognized at the recent 2009 Missouri Broadcasters Association’s Annual Convention & Awards Presentation, held June 5-6, 2009 at The Lodge of the Four Seasons in Lake Ozark, Missouri.

WXOS-FM/101 ESPN won the 2009 Missouri Broadcast Award for “Best Sports Program” for their original program, the “St. Louis Sports Spectacular”, which debuted on January 2, 2009.

The program featured a countdown of the top 20 greatest moments in St. Louis sports history and included narration from TV and radio veterans Jim Holder, John Kelly, Mike Busch and Joe Buck. Additionally, the presentation included reaction from current and former players, coaches, fans and broadcasters who experienced each event.

This is the first award for 101 ESPN, which was launched on the St. Louis airwaves on January 1, 2009.

Commenting on the award, WXOS Program Director Jason Barrett notes, “As a new station in the highly-competitive sports radio industry, to be recognized like this by our peers is an incredible honor for 101 ESPN. I’m thrilled to be a part of this recognition.”

Bonneville St. Louis Vice President and Market Manager John Kijowski adds, ”Both Bonneville St. Louis Radio Group and Bonneville International are very pleased that 101 ESPN has been recognized for the station’s programming excellence. We’ve worked very hard to bring quality sports radio programming to the St. Louis market.”
