STAA'S GOLDBERG RETURNING TO WHITEWINGS RADIO

(June 5, 2009) United League Baseball’s Rio Grande Valley WhiteWings announced today that STAA client Jonah Goldberg will return for his third season as the Voice of the WhiteWings and all 80 regular season games, as well as any playoff games, will be broadcast live on audiosportsonline.net.Pre-game shows will start 15 minutes before the scheduled first pitch. There is no charge to listen. All games will be archived at audiosportsonline.net. WhiteWings Director of In-Game Entertainment Ben Gordon-Goldstein, in his first season, will join Goldberg for part of each home and select road broadcasts. Goldberg is entering his fourth season in baseball after spending the 2006 season with the Hyannis Mets (Cape Cod Baseball League). In the Valley, he has also contributed to broadcasts of the Rio Grande Valley Vipers, Killer Bees and Dorados as well as the University of Texas Pan-American basketball and baseball teams. Including his time at Boston University’s WTBU Radio, Goldberg has 572 sports broadcasts on his resume. Gordon-Goldstein comes to the WhiteWings after working for the Pensacola Pelicans (American Association) last year and spending the previous two seasons with the Cotuit Kettleers (Cape Cod Baseball League). A fellow-Boston University College of Communication graduate, Gordon-Goldstein also has experience working with the Trenton Devils, the New England Sports Network and WTBU Radio. The WhiteWings open the 2009 season against the Coastal Bend Thunder on Thursday, June 11 at Harlingen Field. First pitch will be at 7:05 p.m. Pre-game coverage begins at 6:50. |
