KALINE FILLING IN ON TIGERS BASEBALL BROADCASTS
(May 28, 2009) l Kaline has been called back up to the majors, and in his hometown, no less.

The Tigers legend will provide color commentary for tonight and Friday's game against the Orioles in Baltimore. Jim Price, the normal analyst, will do the play-by-play for Dan Dickerson, who's recovering from surgery to repair his left quadriceps tendon after a jogging injury in Kansas City.

On Saturday and Sunday, Price will be paired with Fox Sports Detroit host John Keating, who subbed for Dickerson during Wednesday's win over the Royals.

Kaline, a Baltimore native and Hall of Fame rightfielder for the Tigers, was paired with the late George Kell for 20 seasons (1976-96) on television broadcasts. In 1997, Kaline worked with Price, his teammate on the 1968 World Series champions, and Ernie Harwell.

Kaline, now a special assistant to Dave Dombrowski, left the broadcast booth in 2001.
