(May 27, 2009) Detroit Tigers radio play-by-play announcer Dan Dickerson was injured while jogging today, and was replaced in the broadcast booth by Fox Sports Net television host and anchor John Keating.
Jim Price, Dickerson's broadcast partner, said Dickerson tripped on a curb before injuring himself. Tigers head athletic trainer Kevin Rand said magnetic resonance imaging tests were done on both Dickerson's legs at a local hospital, adding that he recommended Dickerson return home. It was unclear if he will do that. Dickerson is in his 10th season of broadcasting Tigers games, and has been the lead play-by-play announcer since 2003, succeeding Ernie Harwell. |
