CURTIS TO BROADCAST EVERBLADES HOCKEY
Press Release
(May 12, 2009) The Florida Everblades announced today that John Curtis has been added to the front office staff as Public Relations Manager, Broadcaster, and Sales Representative.

Curtis replaces Kevin Reiter who has held a similar position over the last five seasons, and will take over the team's marketing responsibilities.

Curtis, a native of Ann Arbor, Michigan brings twelve years of minor league hockey experience with him to Southwest Florida. Most recently, he was the Alternate Governor for Myrtle Beach Professional Hockey (formerly Florence Pride) in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Currently, Myrtle Beach is on voluntary suspension with the ECHL.

Curtis began his career in the former WPHL (Western Professional Hockey League) now CHL in 1996-97 with the Amarillo Rattlers. After one season in Amarillo, he moved onto the now-defunct Monroe (LA) Moccasins where he spent the next three seasons. In 2000, Curtis jumped to the ECHL with the expansion Reading Royals. He held the position of Director of Broadcasting and Media Sales until the fall of 2005 with the LA Kings minor league affiliate.

Reiter, who took over the broadcasting duties with the Everblades in the fall of 2004, will remain within the Everblades organization after accepting a promotion as the Director of Marketing.
