EX-ROCKETS SPORTS BROADCASTER MCLEMORE DIES

(May 1, 2009) Former Rocket player and broadcaster McCoy McLemore, who was battling cancer, died Thursday. He was 67.
The Yates graduate played 17 games for the Rockets during the 1971-72 season, his final year in the NBA. McLemore, who played college basketball for Drake, was a third-round pick by San Francisco in 1964 and played for five additional NBA teams in his career. The 6-7, 235-pound forward was a reserve for the 1970-71 NBA champion Milwaukee Bucks. McLemore was a color analyst in the late 1980s for Rockets’ television broadcasts on Home Sports Entertainment. |
