THE TICKET DOMINATING DALLAS SPORTS RADIO

Dallas Morning News
(April 27, 2009) Radio ratings keep coming in relatively fast and furious with the change from diaries to the more sophisticated portable people meters. Once a quarterly report, we can now dish ratings monthly. The March numbers have arrived.
Overall, The Ticket dominated Monday to Friday from 6 a.m. to midnight in the only demographic – men 25 to 54 – sports talk stations believe is significant. It was No. 1 in the entire market, scoring a 6.1 average share. ESPN-FM 103.3 averaged a 3.2 (10th), and 105.3 The Fan scored a 1.9 (tied for 25th). Most significantly, The Fan's Kevin Scott and Greg Hill tied ESPN's Michael Irvin as each scored a 2.1 share from the 11 a.m. to noon hour. The Ticket's Norm Hitzges came in at 6.3. The Fan's Newy Scruggs and Sean Salisbury trailed Irvin by only 0.1 of a share in the next two hours. Scruggs and Salisbury finished second in the 2 to 3 p.m. hour, ahead of ESPN's Matt Mosley and Brian Estridge by 0.3 of a share. The Ticket was well out in front in those hours with BaD Radio. |
