SYRACUSE ATHLETICS EXTEND RADIO DEAL
Press Release
(April 24, 2009) Syracuse athletics and Galaxy Communications have extended their partnership for an additional three years. Flagship station TK99 (99.5FM, WTKW) will continue to be the home for the Syracuse ISP Sports Network through 2013. The original agreement was set to expire in 2010.

Syracuse Director of Athletics Dr. Daryl Gross and Galaxy President and CEO Ed Levine will continue to develop the partnership that includes the broadcast of Syracuse football, men’s and women’s basketball and men’s lacrosse, Midnight Madness, and football pre-game activities on the University Quad, in addition to other promotional events and opportunities surrounding Syracuse athletics.

“This is awesome,” Gross said. “Ed is part of our SU family, as is Galaxy. He and Galaxy have delivered passion and excitement to SU Athletics. We look forward to an extraordinary future.”

The Syracuse ISP Sports Network reaches the Utica-Rome area on 96.9FM, WOUR, a 50,000 watt legendary FM station that can be heard from Utica to Boonville north, Oneonta south and Amsterdam east. Orange men’s lacrosse is carried on 99.5FM, WTK) and Syracuse women’s basketball is broadcast on WTLA (1200/1400 AM). The Doug Marrone and Jim Boeheim radio shows air on TK99.

“We appreciate the confidence shown by SU and ISP in extending our agreement till 2013,” Levine said. “Together we have done some good things in the past two years but I can honestly say that the best is yet to come".

"We are thrilled to extend our partnership with Galaxy Communications,” said ISP Sports General Manager Joe Baldini. “The first two years of the partnership have been extremely rewarding for both ISP Sports and the athletics department. Not only have Ed and his staff provided numerous opportunities for new or extended programming on game days, but SU Sports is now part of the fabric at Galaxy 365 days a year."

The Syracuse games and coaches’ shows are produced and distributed by International Sports Properties, Inc. (ISP) of Winston-Salem, NC. The Syracuse ISP Sports Network includes the entire state of New York and extends into neighboring states, including Vermont.
