STAA CLIENT GORE WINS SPORTSCASTING AWARDS

(April 13, 2009) The Washington Wild Things, presented by Washington Federal Savings Bank, have announced that STAA client Randy Gore of WJPA Radio as been recognized in Harrisburg by the Pennsylvania Associated Press Broadcasters Association.Gore, who was named the Frontier League’s Broadcaster of the Year in 2008, won first place honors in the Spot News Category, and he won both first and second place honors in the Sports Feature Category. Gore did a story on the U.S. Olympic Softball Team in May 2008 when they played the Robert Morris Women's Softball Team at CONSOL Energy Park. The game was part of the Bound for Beijing Tour. Gore’s story took top honors in the category. In addition, Gore’s interview with former Washington Wild Thing Rene Quintana was recognized, earning the Wild Things’ broadcaster another trophy. The Washington County native is slated to act as the voice of the Washington Wild Things again in 2009. The season opener is scheduled to air on WJPA 95.3 F.M. on May 22nd. |
