FISHER CATS BASEBALL EXTENDS RADIO DEAL
Press Release
(April 8, 2009) The New Hampshire Fisher Cats, Double-A affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays, and
Clear Channel Radio Manchester today announced a one-year extension of their agreement that will
keep WGIR-610 AM in Manchester as the flagship station of the Fisher Cats Radio Network and
WGIN 930-AM as the Seacoast affiliate through the 2011 season.
The Fisher Cats also announced a oneyear extension with Great Eastern Radio, keeping all 142 Fisher Cats’ regular season games and all playoff games on WTSL 1400-AM/94.3 FM “The Pulse” in Hanover for three more years, while adding a new Keene affiliate, all-sports WEEY 93.5-FM, for every game through 2011. In addition, the Fisher Cats and Absolute Broadcasting today announced that WSMN 1590-AM in Nashua will join the Fisher Cats Radio Network as a new affiliate for the 2009, 2010 and 2011 seasons. “We are excited to continue our long-term partnership with Clear Channel Radio, which shares our commitment to serving the local community, while offering our fans great all-around radio coverage as our flagship station with WGIR in Manchester and WGIN in Rochester,” said Fisher Cats President/General Manager Rick Brenner. “Teaming up with Great Eastern Radio has helped grow our fan base with ‘the Pulse’ in the Upper Valley, and we are happy that our relationship with them is now giving our fans in Keene the opportunity to follow the team all season long on the new all-sports WEEI-FM,” added Brenner. “Now we look forward to our new partnership with Absolute Broadcasting, which will enable our fans in Nashua to catch all the excitement of Fisher Cats baseball on WSMN.” “Our partnership with the Fisher Cats has been very successful with our advertising and community relationships, and we are pleased to continue serving as the flagship station of the Fisher Cats Radio Network,” said Clear Channel Vice President and General Manager Joe Graham. |
